The therapist will see the family and child for an initial consultation. This involves going through the child’s history and goals of the family, and getting to know the child better. The consultation will be 1 hour.
The therapist will set another appointment to do an assessment with the child. This involves doing tests to work out the specific difficulties the child may have. The assessment might be at school, the clinic or home. The time it takes will be different for each child.
3. THERAPY SESSIONS
The therapist may recommend therapy sessions to do exercises that will benefit the child. The severity of the child’s condition will determine how many sessions are required. Generally, at least a number of months of therapy is required to get significant change. Small changes will occur early.
